Jon Holland Record Space - The Australian Book of Records Attempt

Join us as we attempt the impossible – a new Australian record through the official Australian Book of Records (TABOR) at the John Holland Record Space! Come dressed in your Mary Poppins finery as we compete for the top spot in:

The Largest Gathering of People Dressed as Mary Poppins Themed Characters.

The stakes are high but as Mary Poppins once said, “Everything is possible, even the impossible”. Sign in at the top of Wharf Street from 1:15pm on event day, to be ready for the record attempt at 1:45pm. Let’s become a part of Maryborough's history!

The character Factory on Cherry Tree Lane

Join Macabre Theatre in collaboration with Fraser Coast Region Council and RADF, as they bring to life the ‘Character Factory on Cherry Tree Lane’. Be swept into the magic of storytelling as famous Mary Poppins characters lead performances of myths and legends on the Story Bank Stage – trust us, you’ve never experienced storytelling like this!

But the action doesn’t end there… experience fun on all new level as the Character Factory team help make you your very own Poppins themed costumes, so you too can be a part of the Australian Book of Records attempt!

Flame Studios Performance & Roving Troupe

Flame Studios can be found at the Bond Store Courtyard and roaming around the festival all day. You can also catch their dance performances at the Downer Raceway and enjoy their musical performances on the Rotunda Mainstage in Queens Park!

Flame studios are a Fraser Coast performing arts company that specialise in high-quality training for budding performers, incredible shows and showcases, and professional entertainment for regional events.

The Grand Parade & Finale Sing-a-long

Join the Grand Parade!
Open to everyone – show off your costume, umbrella, kites or just your Supercalifragalistic self. Join the parade at the starting point at 1.45pm at the top of Wharf Street - no registration necessary!

Finishing at main stage for the grand finale singalong at 2.30pm.

Kite & Umbrella Decorating Workshops

Paint your own practically perfect umbrella and show off your creation in the Grand Parade or be inspired by the kite display and decorate your own Mary Poppins Festival kite

Deano Yipadee & Errol the Frog

Best-selling Author, Musician and Performer Deano Yipadee as well as Errol the frog from Fraser Coast Libraries will have your child in stitches as they read, sing, laugh and bounce along with Deano’s collection of chart-topping Scholastic books and songs. Join NeeNaw the Little Fire Engine, Stink-o-saurus, the brand-new book Granny’s Undies, and many more as Deano takes you on a hilarious comedy, live-music adventure.

Deano Yipadee and Errol the Frog are presented by Fraser Coast Libraries and First5Forever, a State Library initiative.

Poppins Musical Trail

Join Accent Theatre as they take you on a musical adventure around the Mary Poppins Festival! Experience the fun as Mary, Bert, the Banks family, and a whole cavalcade of recognisable Mary Poppins characters tell an untold Mary Poppins tale –all told through an interactive musical lens. Experience whimsy and excitement as you are guided through the Wharf Street precinct and Parklands, and sing along as all your favourite Poppins songs are performed in an all-new 30-minute performance context.

Murri Poppins Indigenous Storytelling Space

Celebration of Indigenous Storytelling space is to acknowledge and showcase the storytelling techniques that have kept Indigenous culture connected to people and place. Meet and learn from local Aboriginal & Islander community to engage in the elements of Indigenous Culture through workshops, presentations and sharing of stories.

Mary Ann Steam Train

Queensland's first ever steam engine was built right here in Maryborough, and this fully functional replica of the Mary Ann will be carrying guests along the scenic route of the Mary River as a part of the Mary Poppins festival experience.

Mary Inc

Visit the Mary Inc Marquee and meet The Proud Marys. Discover the rich history of the Mary Poppins Festival and participate in fun storytelling activities.

Movies at the Bond Store, Hosted by Headspace

Enjoy a brief reprieve from the festival as Headspace hosts a quiet getaway in the Bond Store Basement. Enjoy novelty games, comfy bean bags and a double feature of ‘Mary Poppins’ and ‘Mary Poppins Returns’ on the big Screen!
