Toilets can be found throughout the event precincts, including toilets with disabled access which can be found throughout the event precincts.

2022 is the fourteenth year of Mary Poppins festival.  In these years, the festival has more than doubled in size with the audience reaching more than 5,500 people in 2015. 

Maryborough celebrates its connection to Mary Poppins. 

It is the birthplace of Mary Poppins author P. L Travers whose beloved novels were brilliantly adapted for the popular Disney movie of the same name and the award-winning musical. 

The annual Mary Poppins Festival celebrates the magical tale of Mary Poppins and its connection to the wonder of storytelling and the success of her creator. 

Public Parking 

Parking for attendees at the 2022 Mary Poppins in the Park Festival will be via street parking in the vicinity and in the existing Public Car Parks within the City of Maryborough.  Those within walking distance of the event site include:

Visitors are encouraged to bring picnic blankets. There will be no allocated seating.  

This is a free event; tickets are required to enter the Story Bank Museum and are available online at https://storybank.ourfrasercoast.com.au/admission-2/visit-story-bank or on the day – bookings recommended.

The program will be available on the website www.marypoppinsfestival.com.au and at the event from the event information marquee and visitor information marquee. 

 A Picnic & rug – No Alcohol – Sunscreen Hat – camera - comfortable walking shoes  

Pets/animals, with the exception of service animals, are not permitted within the event precinct.

No – this is an alcohol-free event 

The event follow COVID Safe practices encourages Social Distancing, Good Hygiene, do not attend if positive for COVID-19 

Food and beverages will be available from local food stalls & trucks. 

Entertainment line-up will be released on social media as we get closer to the event date.

Registration Location: Competitors Marquee – Richmond Street. 

Registration Time: Registration commences from 9.00am to 10.30am 

Race Time: 11.30am 

Details: All participants will be required to complete a Registration and Indemnity Waiver form. Forms can be picked up at the Competitors Marquee on Richmond Street.

Pop Up Picnic Competition – Queens Park  

Registration: The pop-up picnic competition does not require registration 

Pop-up Picnic Judging Location: Queens Park - Playground Precinct 

Pop-up Picnic Judging: From 10.00am to 12.30pm 

Entry Details: All participants will be required to have their picnic set up ready for judging at the commencement of the Mary Morning Tea – A spoon full of sugar at 10.00am.  

The judging will include picnic set ups for morning tea and continue through to lunch.  

Food for the morning tea or lunch picnic can be purchased at any of the food vendors in the catered courtyard on the day. The menu will not be considered high ranking on the judges score sheets.  

 

The Grand Parade Registration – on the day  

Registration is open to all the community! Come join the fun and celebrate another storytelling journey - Mary Poppins Festival – Day in the Park  

Registration Location: Competitors Marquee – Richmond Street. 

Registration Time: Registration commences from 9.00am to 1.00pm 

Parade Assembly Time: 1.30pm 

Parade Time: 2.00pm 

Details: All parade participants will be required to complete a Registration and Indemnity Waiver form. Forms can be picked up at the Competitors Marquee on Richmond Street.  

 

Indemnity Form 

For all the competitions and the Parade, each participant must sign the registration and indemnity form before participating in the parade and bring this with them to hand in at the assembly location prior to the parade start.
